E-Trade - Out the Wazoo

January 30, 2000 | :30

It would become hard to remember, but there was a time before talking babies dominated E-Trade advertising. If you did recall such an era, you'd think of the chimpanzees so prominent in E-Trade's "Wasting $2 Million" in 2000, "Ghost Town" in 2001 and "Monkey Musical" in 2002.

In Super Bowl XXXIV, E-Trade accompanied its brilliant chimp ad with spots such as this, also by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, appealing more directly to the “Hey, you never know,” it’s-good-to-be-rich zone of the consumer psyche.
