One of its subsidiaries wanted to capitalize on retail
electricity sales in deregulated markets. Specifically,
GDF SUEZ Energy Resources wanted to create a new
company that would be America's first electricity
company specifically targeting small businesses.
Unleaded created a national electricity company brand
from scratch—from strategy to naming, brand creation
to rollout promotion and programs. The result was
Think Energy—the smartest choice in electricity for
small businesses. Its rollout campaign was designed to
optimize sales channels and PR spending, centered
around a contest: the search for the city's "Smartest
Small Business." (Baltimore, in the case of the rollout).
Think Energy became a successful new brand that's
growing into a half-dozen more retail electricity
markets this year. Thousands of people interacted with
the Smartest Small Business campaign generating
valuable prospect data. The response exceeded
pre-determined campaign targets and provided a
platform for thousands of new contract closings. The
campaign also took Best of Show at the 2012 Business
Marketing Association's Lantern Awards of Texas.
