New York—News Corp. announced it is shuttering The Daily, less than two years after it launched the iPad newspaper. The company also named Wall Street Journal Managing Editor Robert Thomson as CEO of its new publishing entity, which will retain the News Corp. name.
WSJ.com launches Indonesian-language site

New York—WSJ.com, the online companion to The Wall Street Journal, has debuted a local-language website in Indonesia. The launch follows the debut of a local-language edition in Korea that exceeded 6 million page views in its first two weeks, according to the Journal.
Dow Jones to acquire sole ownership of WSJ Japanese-language website

New York—News Corp.'s Dow Jones & Co. said it will acquire from SBI Holdings the 40% of the Wall Street Journal Japan K.K. it doesn't already own. The Wall Street Journal Japan is a joint venture that produces WSJ.com's Japanese-language website.
Larsen steps down as president of Dow Jones
