As business unit manager for Hobart warewash equipment, Sarah Puls spearheads product innovation, marketing, sourcing and manufacturing for Hobart's stationary warewashers, but she is also involved in other marketing initiatives for the company.
“I have kept part of my old role in brand management leadership,” said Puls, who was Hobart's VP-brand management before taking her new post 16 months ago.
Puls is in the midst of the rollout of Hobart's new undercounter warewashers, the LXe and Advansys LXe, which debuted in January. Because the products' functional innovations are not visible on the outside, she said, the company “invested in great three-dimensional product animations our salespeople and dealers can use to show customers how the benefits we claim are being delivered.”
To bring the new products' technology to life, Puls put together images, brochures, spec sheets and short videos that were integrated into the Hobart Spotlight iPad application for end-users and showcase selected equipment from ITW Food Equipment Group, parent of the Hobart, Baxter and Traulsen brands, among others.
Puls is also involved in the Sustainable Kitchen website relaunch, scheduled for this month. The site is a destination for foodservice industry professionals to learn best practices in saving energy and water and waste reduction, as well as to explore products, case studies and emerging technologies.
“The site is a couple of years old, but we are relaunching it with a new design and refreshed content,” she said. “We will have a lot more case studies and peer-to-peer content, along with a quarterly email blast to drive traffic back to the site.”
