San Francisco—Salesforce.com Inc. has announced the full release of its Communities platform, which enables collaboration among marketing, sales, customer service and outside vendors.
First announced in beta form in August, Salesforce Communities extends the capabilities of the company's Chatter internal social collaboration tool. The service enables internal teams to brainstorm about programs and campaigns along with partners, resellers and retailers.
The new Salesforce Communities has been beta-tested by General Electric Co. The service will start at $500 per month when completely rolled out by the end of the summer, Salesforce said in a statement.
