Shareholders approve new name: McGraw Hill Financial

New York—Shareholders of the McGraw-Hill Cos. voted to change the company's name to McGraw Hill Financial. The New York Stock Exchange symbol for the company is changing from MHP to MHFI effective May 14.

In March, McGraw-Hill completed the $2.4 billion sale of its education division to investment funds affiliated with Apollo Global Management.

The McGraw Hill Financial name more closely identifies the present company with the credit ratings, benchmarks and analytics it provides to global capital and commodity markets through units such as Standard & Poor's Ratings Services, S&P Capital IQ, S&P Dow Jones Indices, Platts and J.D. Power & Associates, the company said in a statement.
