Irvine, Calif.—Smartphones are the top mobile device used to access work-related information by remote employees at small and midsize businesses, according to a report from Sage North America.

The “Sage SMB Survey on Mobile Devices” was based on an online survey of 490 SMB executives, conducted between Jan. 10 and Feb. 1.

It found that 81% of employees at SMBs use smartphones to access work-related information when not in the office, while 80% use laptops and 57% use tablets.

Also, according to the survey, 85% of SMB owners said the use of mobile devices has had a positive impact on their companies' productivity.
