Campaign: Technology Tweet Tournament
The Technology Association of Georgia's mission is to drive awareness of the state's technology community, and where better to find techies than on Twitter? The group teamed with Arketi Group to create a bracket-style competition that pitted 16 of Georgia's most visible Twitter members against each other in a 20-day tournament to crown the state's top technology tweeter.
The competition matched two tweeters at a time, each posting a single tweet. The person with more retweets in the following 24 hours advanced to the next round. Third-party participants such as McKesson Corp. and the Atlanta Business Chronicle were recruited to participate and publicize the event. The tweeted messages drove traffic to a promotional video about Georgia's technology climate.
The campaign drove more than 2,500 tweets and over 2,000 unique video views. It was a top Atlanta-related trending topic on Twitter and sparked a dozen media placements.
