Study: Facebook mobile, desktop ads see strong CTRs

    London—Click-through rates for ads placed on Facebook Inc.'s desktop and mobile sites grew 99% in the U.S. in the third quarter compared with the second quarter, according to a new report from social marketing technology company TBG Digital.

    TBG Digital's study, “Global Facebook Advertising Report, Q3 2012,” also showed that Facebook's mobile CTR of 1.29% in the U.S. is almost 23 times higher than it desktop News Feed and right-hand side panel CTR. When all three Facebook placements are used together, average CTR rises to nearly 1.47%.

    The study was based on ads placed by 282 TBG Digital clients in 190 countries.
