Menlo Park, Calif.—Facebook Inc. has redesigned its self-serve ad tool to provide recommendations to smaller companies about what ad types will support specific goals. Advertisers are now asked, “What do you want to do?” If the user wants to get more Page likes or promote Page posts, for example, the tool suggests a particular combination of ads and Sponsored Stories. Another feature is a preview showing how Sponsored Stories will appear in a users' news feed.
