Ali launches b-to-b media company focusing on the travel industry

New York—Rafat Ali, founder of PaidContent.org, this week launched a business media company called Skift. It will offer content and data targeting professionals in the travel industry, as well as business travelers.
The company has initially rolled out a website, Skift.com, offering b2b news and information for the travel industry.
In a message distributed on skift.com, Ali said that the company has raised $500,000 in funding from a wide array of media industry executives and business executives, including L. Gordon Crovitz, co-founder of Journalism Online and a former publisher of The Wall Street Journal, Tom Glocer, former CEO of Thomson Reuters, and Alan Meckler, chairman-CEO at WebMediaBrands.
