AOL launches premium ad formats for mobile devices

New York—AOL Inc. has introduced new rich-media ad formats for smartphones and tablets driven by apps that feature photos, videos and social feeds across its mobile Web properties.

AOL's Mobile Premium Formats include options that allow advertisers to use proprietary feeds to highlight company news and updates; a feed to display content from a brand's Facebook page in a scrollable list that provides real-time conversation updates; and a Twitter feed to show content from a brand's account or a chosen hashtag.

The photo gallery app enables advertisers to tell a brand's story through images of products or messages; the video gallery displays TV spots or other video content already produced in high-definition formats, according to the company.
