BIN: Event revenue up, print down in Q1

New York—In this year's first quarter, events posted a revenue gain, but b-to-b print ad revenue declined, according to Business Information Network figures compiled by American Business Media.

Event revenue increased to $2.99 billion in the first quarter, a 1.5% gain over the year-earlier period; trade print revenue fell to $1.82 billion, a 3.5% decline.

Fifteen of the 22 vertical categories monitored by ABM posted falling revenue in the first quarter. Computer and telecom posted the biggest drop: down 24.5%. The agriculture category posted the largest gain, at 9.0%.
