  • San Francisco—Samsung Electronics and advertising technology company OpenX Technologies will jointly introduce an exchange for global mobile ad inventory on Samsung smartphones and tablets.

The Samsung AdHub Market exchange, powered by OpenX, will offer real-time bidding with a minimum price as well as the ability for advertisers to approve placement, according to the companies.

The market will compete against Apple Inc.'s own closed ad exchange iAds, Google Inc.'s DoubleClick and the independent Millennial Media. AdHub is expected to be launched in the second half of the year.
