NYTimes.com reduces free monthly articles

New York—The New York Times Media Group said that beginning in April it will reduce the number of free articles per month available on NYTimes.com from 20 to 10. The reduction is a sign of the newspaper's confidence in its metered-model pay gate.

The Times, which introduced its metered model a year ago, said it has about 454,000 paid subscribers to various digital editions of the New York Times and the International Herald Tribune
