New York—The Wall Street Journal Digital Network has poached its new director-social media and engagement from The New York Times. Liz Heron, formerly social media editor of the Times has joined the Journal in a similar role. Heron succeeds Zach Seward, who moved to Atlantic Media Co. to launch its new online business property.
“Liz is a renowned digital alchemist,” said Robert Thomson, the Journal's managing editor, in a statement. “Her e-empathy and e-expertise will be crucial in building engagement with our vast and growing audience in the U.S. and globally.”
Separately, CNBC has named Kevin Krim its digital general manager, a new position. Krim previously was global head of digital for Bloomberg. Prior to that, he was VP-product and strategy for Yahoo HotJobs and Yahoo Small Business.
