Adobe study: Users willing to pay for digital magazines on tablets

Barcelona, Spain—Sixty-eight percent of readers of digital magazines currently pay for this electronic content on tablets, according to research presented by Adobe Systems at the Mobile World Congress.

Using data aggregated from the almost 600 publishers worldwide that have created about 1,500 tablet publications using Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, the company found that 27% of users pay for combined access to print and digital issues, 26% have digital subscriptions and 15% pay for single issue access.

Adobe's research also found that one out of every five pages that users view in a magazine app built with Adobe's software is an ad.
