Hanley Wood names Benz president-content

Washington, D.C.—Hanley Wood, publisher of Builder, has named Bob Benz president-content, a newly created position. He was previously chief digital officer at Clarity Media Group, which publishes the Weekly Standard.

Benz will be responsible for transforming Hanley Wood into a digital-first editorial environment. He officially joins Hanley Wood on Feb. 27.

“I've always been proud of the good work done by our editors, and I'm not embarrassed to say we still think magazines have a place in our portfolio,” said Frank Anton, Hanley Wood CEO, in a statement. “At the same time, the media world is undergoing a dramatic secular shift. Bob's career has been defined by digital innovation and the organizational change that it requires.”
