UBM, Roularta Media form joint venture

London—UBM announced it has formed a joint venture with Brussels-based Roularta Media Group. ActuaMedica, the name of the new company, will be located in Brussels.

UBM will contribute print and digital titles—such as Journal du Medecin and Belgium Oncology News—to ActuaMedica. However, UBM said it will retain 100% ownership of its digital data businesses in Belgium, including Medibridge and drug information systems.

“ActuaMedica is well-placed to prosper in both print and digital as the media market evolves,” said Henry Elkington, CEO of UBM Medica, in a statement. “In parallel, we will continue to build our wholly-owned Belgian data business as part of our UBM Medica EMEA operations.”
