Ziff Davis acquires Toolbox.com

New York—Technology media company Ziff Davis has acquired Toolbox.com, a networking site for IT professionals. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Toolbox.com will be a unit of Ziff Davis B2B Focus, formed earlier this year when Ziff Davis acquired Focus Research, a market research firm specializing in brand strategy, new-product development and advertising research.

According to Vivek Shah, Ziff Davis' CEO, Toolbox—which has 2.3 million registered members who can blog as well as ask and answer IT questions—will improve Ziff Davis B2B Focus' array of offerings to IT marketers.

“We've added a critical piece to our puzzle with the acquisition of Toolbox.com,” Shah said in a statement. “The IT community relies on itself to make decisions and be informed. Owning the leading professional networking site is a significant strategic advantage for Ziff Davis.”
