B-to-b ad pages grew modestly in August

New York—B-to-b print ad pages increased 0.5% in August compared with August 2010, according to data released by American Business Media's Business Information Network. Ad pages were up 1.8% for the first eight months of the year compared with the year-earlier period, according to BIN figures.

The agriculture category showed the most growth in ad pages in August, with a 13.5% increase over August 2010. The biggest loss occurred in the science, research and development category, which dropped 13.7%.

For the January-to-August period this year, the top-gaining sector was transportation and logistics, which increased its ad pages by 14.7% over the year-earlier period. The biggest decline again occurred in the science, research and development category, where pages fell 8.3%.
