46% of trade publication's subscribers own tablets

Chicago—Forty-six percent of Packaging World's subscribers own a tablet, according to a survey conducted by the Summit Media Group publication. Thirty-six percent own an iPad, 5% own an Android tablet, 3% own a Research in Motion tablet and 2% own other brands.

The survey found that, including the subscribers who already own tablets, 78% said they planned to own a tablet by May 2012.

Of those who currently own tablets, 74% said they read work-related digital magazines on the devices. At the same time, 55% said they accessed work- or industry-related websites with their tablets.

The email survey of Packaging World's subscribers, conducted in May, generated 1,180 usable responses.
