London—Multimedia marketing company Alterian has acquired social media research and analytics company Intrepid. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Intrepid’s solutions aid social media integration into mainstream marketing campaigns. Intrepid’s technologies will bolster Alterian’s own social media marketing solution, Alterian SM2, as well as social features integrated into its campaign management, email marketing, Web behavior analytics and Web content management solutions, according to Alterian.

Intrepid has offices in Seattle, London and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Alterian said it plans to use the Vietnam office to help service its area clients and expand within the Asia-Pacific region.
