  • In a promotion tied to its sponsorship of BlogWorld Expo in Las Vegas Nov. 8-9, Southwest Airlines gave away a free trip to the city to a blogger who submitted the most popular caption for a photo featured on its blog, Nuts about Southwest. The winning blogger was Luther Lowe, who came up with the caption, "What happens in Vegas starts on Southwest." Lowe won two roundtrip plane tickets to Las Vegas, a three-night stay at the MGM Grand and admission to BlogWorld Expo. "Southwest has been blogging for about a year and a half now, and the community we've built definitely has a unique sort of "Southwesty" sense of humor," said Paula Berg, a Southwest Airlines spokeswoman and official "Blog Girl" for the airline. "This contest is just a way for us to have a little fun with our bloggers and, really, to celebrate the relationships we've built with them over the past year."
