Chicago—Intellext, a contextual search software company, announced Wednesday that it has changed its name to MediaRiver and released a new product for Web publishers.
The product, ClickSurge, is a widget-based, media-delivery model that drives new visitors to Web sites and enables the distribution of content virally by automatically placing links to that content on the site, on a partner site and throughout a publisher’s family of Web sites. MediaRiver said it also gives Web publishers a platform for distribution and syndication deals.
MediaRiver’s patent-pending technology was developed in the Intelligent Information Laboratory at Northwestern University.
