Penton creates unit to consolidate business aviation brands
New York—Penton has created a unit to consolidate its newly expanded business aviation assets.
The Penton Business Aviation Group includes Business & Commercial Aviation, which Penton acquired from McGraw Hill Financial in August, as well as Penton's Ac-U-Kwik, Aircraft Bluebook, Air Charter Guide, Airportdata.com, Air Transport World and SpeedNews.
Frank Craven, previously group publisher for Penton's Aviation Group, has been named managing director of the new business aviation unit; he reports to Greg Hamilton, Penton Aviation Market leader and president of Aviation Week.
The company also announced the launch of print and digital redesigns of the Business & Commercial Aviation brand.
“Business Aviation now becomes a core platform for growth and we are establishing a market group for focus,” said Warren Bimblick, senior VP-strategy and business development, in a statement.
The company is also expanding its Ac-U-Kwik business aviation flight planning products with a new iPad app and a strategic alliance with RocketRoute to deliver flight-planning services to business aviation operators.
