NY Times debuts news app for Kindle Fire
New York—The New York Times has launched a news app designed to offer its content for optimal reading on Amazon's Kindle Fire.
Features include offline reading, the ability to save content on multiple platforms, social media and e-mail sharing, and text-to-speech functionality for reading articles and blogs aloud.
Through July 31, users of the app will have free access to more than 25 sections of the Times, including videos, slide shows, interactive graphics and blogs. Beginning in August, nonsubscribers will be able to access up to three articles a day on the Kindle Fire app before a paid subscription is required.
