SoDA survey finds 55% marketers will increase digital budgets

  • Atlanta—Fifty-five percent of marketers plan to increase their digital marketing budgets this year, according to a survey by the Society of Digital Agencies (SoDA), a global organization of digital marketing agencies

    The report, “2013 Digital Marketing Outlook,” was based on an online survey of 814 digital agency and marketing executives, about 15% of whom are b2b marketers. The survey was conducted for SoDA by Econsultancy.

    It found that 39% of marketers plan to increase their digital marketing budgets this year without increasing overall marketing budgets, while 16% will increase digital marketing budgets and overall marketing budgets. Thirty-four percent will keep digital marketing budgets flat, and 11% will decrease digital marketing budgets.

    When client-side marketers were asked, “How would you describe the digital marketing sophistication of your organization,” 22% said “very sophisticated;” 34% said “somewhat sophisticated;” 26% said “about average;” 12% said “somewhat unsophisticated;” 5% said “very unsophisticated;” and 1% did not have an opinion.
