Cindi Crain named to Crain Communications board

Detroit, Mich.—Cindi Crain has been elected to the Crain Communications Inc. board of directors, succeeding her mother, Merrilee Patterson Crain, who died Nov. 2.

Crain is co-owner and director of VirginBush Safaris, based in Nairobi, Kenya. Previously, she was editor of Golf & Travel, which she founded with her father, Crain Communications President Rance Crain. She also worked as an editor at Travel Holiday, as well as at agencies Young & Rubicam and Wunderman Worldwide.

Crain holds a bachelor's degree in speech and TV writing/producing from Emerson College, and master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
