Warc downgrades global ad spending forecast

  • London—Market research company Warc lowered its global ad spending forecast to 4.3% growth this year, down from a June forecast of 4.8% growth. Warc cited continued uncertainty about the world economy for the change.

    For next year, Warc lowered its global ad spending forecast to 4.0% growth, down from a June forecast of 5.5%.

    In the U.S., ad spending is expected to increase by 4.1% this year, buoyed by election and Olympics ad spending—unchanged from Warc's June forecast.

    Next year, U.S. ad spending is expected to grow by 2.5%, down from a 3.3% growth forecast in June.
