Google acquires Nik Software

  • Mountain View, Calif.—Google has acquired digital photo-editing service Nik Software. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

    San Diego-based Nik Software, whose products include Snapseed, is a competitor to Instagram, which was acquired by Facebook in April for $1 billion.

    “We want to help our users create photos they absolutely love and, in our experience, Nik does this better than anyone,” said Vic Gundotra, senior VP-engineering at Google, wrote on Google+.
