Salesforce expands Chatter social collaboration tool

    "Social Media Marketing: Best-in-Class Marketers Rise to The Top" is designed to provide senior-level marketers with a snapshot of the current state of social media marketing, and insights into trends to watch for going forward.

    This reports includes over 54 pages and 42 charts and graphs that are based on the 432 responses from b2b marketers, surveyed in January and February 2013.

    San Francisco—Salesforce.com Inc. is extending the capabilities of its internal social collaboration tool Chatter. The update is designed to enable partners, resellers and retailers outside of a company to brainstorm on products and campaigns with internal marketing teams.

    The new Salesforce Communities has been beta tested by General Electric Co. Salesforce plans to roll out the service in further tests, and make it widely available in the second half of 2013, the company said in a statement.

    Last week, competitor Jive Software announced a similar capability, Jive for Marketing Teams, which also enables real-time collaboration between internal marketing teams and external agencies and contractors.
