New York—Apps for reading news and books are the most popular tablet apps among global business execs, while apps for news, weather and maps are the most popular mobile phone apps, according to a study by Doremus, New York, and Financial Times.

The report was based on an online survey of more than 600 global business executives, conducted in the fourth quarter.

It found that 87% of tablet-owning business executives have installed a news app on their tablet; 86% have installed an app for reading books; and 73% have installed a weather app.

Among mobile-phone-owning business executives, 75% have installed an app for reading news; 70% have installed a weather app; and 70% have installed a navigation app.
