Google maintains U.S. search market lead

  • Reston, Va.—Google sites continue to lead the U.S. search market, securing 66.4% of all search queries, both organic and paid, in March, according to a new report from comScore.

    Microsoft sites, powered by the company's Bing search engine, was used for 15.3% of all searches in the U.S., while Yahoo—also powered by Bing—had a 13.7% share. Searches on AOL trailed, with 1.6% of U.S. searches.

    When filtering just for organic search results, Google's market share was 68.6% in March, compared with 25.9% for the Bing/Yahoo combination.
