  • Company: Lufthansa, Cologne, Germany

Agency: McCann Erickson Communications House, Berlin

    Market: Travel managers

Quick chase: Although Lufthansa seems to be claiming it created the Internet in the headline: “World Wide Web ... A product of Lufthansa,” we think we know what they're getting at here. The image of the man on an airplane peering intently at the screen of his laptop, combined with the sub-headline about going wireless across the ocean, suggests Lufthansa has staked out a competitive advantage. States the copy: “Lufthansa offers another first with FlyNet broadband Internet on trans-Atlantic flights. So now you can work, surf, IM or tweet from 30,000 feet.” It sounds like time well spent.

Clue: We all know it was Al Gore who first combined the Internet and manned flight.
