Uphoff was named CEO of UBM TechWeb in 2008 after the parent company rebranded CMP Media. Uphoff was previously publisher of CMP's InformationWeek and president of CMP's Business Technology Group. He expanded his responsibilities this year at UBM, taking over the Game Developer Network and HDI, a membership association for technical support professionals, and integrating them into TechWeb.
