Quad/Graphics to close five plants

Sussex, Wis.—Commercial printing company Quad/Graphics announced it will close five plants, consolidating facilities following its acquisition last month of magazine printing company World Color Press.

The plants, which employ some 2,200 workers, are located in Corinth, Miss.; Lebanon, Ohio; Reno, Nev.; and Clarksville and Dyersburg, Tenn. They are due to be shuttered by the end of the year.

Quad/Graphics is the second-largest commercial printer in North America behind Chicago-based R.R. Donnelley & Sons. In addition to catalogs, the company prints Newsweek, Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated, Time and Wired magazines.
