Omaha, Neb.—Database marketing holding company InfoGroup Inc. Monday reported a decline in third-quarter sales.
InfoGroup logged sales of $125 million, down from $145 million in last year’s third quarter. Net income totaled $4.8 million, compared with a loss of $8.7 million in the year-earlier period. According to CFO Tom Oberdorf, cost-cutting efforts will save the company about $35 million this year.
On Saturday the Omaha World-Herald reported that InfoGroup is for sale, with at least 33 potential bidders reviewing the company’s finances. The company did not deny the report, saying it will follow a course that “optimizes value for all our shareholders.”
InfoGroup companies include database managers InfoUSA, Walter Karl and Edith Roman, and e-mail service provider Yesmail.
