AdMob offers social and search features for iPhone app ads

Story posted: June 8, 2009 - 12:28 pm EDT

San Mateo, Calif.—AdMob, a company that provides ads to more than 1,500 applications on the iPhone, is launching new banner ads that feature search and social components for added user engagement. The new ads allow users to connect with the advertiser’s social content on Facebook, for example, or sign up for the company’s Twitter feed. For advertisers with internal search capabilities, the new ads now allow users to type a search query directly into the ad itself. The new features were launched by AdMob in anticipation of Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference which begins today, where Apple is expected to release the iPhone 3.0, its newest operating system update.
