New York—The Interactive Advertising Bureau has issued Email Data Management Best Practices, a position statement recommending privacy and data security guidelines for publishers, marketers and service providers.
Key recommendations include sending commercial email only to those who have opted in to receive the communications and providing unsubscribe information.
IAB also recommends that emailing companies not transfer consumer permission to receive commercial email to another company without the transfer being referenced in the new company’s emails.
