Sunnyvale, Calif.—Yahoo announced it has signed an agreement to acquire Zimbra, an email company that serves small and mid-sized businesses, service providers and universities, for about $350 million. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
In a statement, Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang said the deal helps the company expand its presence with businesses and universities.
Yang added that “Zimbra’s successful relationships with large ISPs are key as we expand our worldwide partner network and continue to focus on our commitment to being the partner of choice.”
Earlier this month, Yahoo announced its acquisition of online ad network BlueLithium.
