Bringing on-demand, rich media and video to banner advertising

Accela Communications recently unveiled a new way to deliver rich media presentation, including video, in the footprint of a typical banner ad unit.

AccelaCast inBanner is designed to deliver on-demand presentations of up to 30 minutes in length. After being invited by a banner ad to view a presentation, the user can watch it immediately, within the banner-size space, without leaving the site.

The rich media is delivered within a player that gives the user full control-the ability to fast forward, pause, go directly to a particular segment via the pop-up agenda or download more information, such as a white paper. AccelaCast inBanner can be served within any standard-size ad unit and is compliant with IAB and ASME guidelines. Coupled with Accela's Web response management system, it provides real-time reporting on viewer times and click-throughs. The platform also allows for multiple forms of data acquisition, such as optional or mandatory registration, for lead generation.

Pricing for AccelaCast inBanner will range from $5,000 to $15,000 for a program, depending on whether or not Accela has to produce the media and the level of technical sophistication desired by the client. -Marie Griffin
